This Airbnb is in a perfect location, walkable to the lake, to downtown Kirkland and local stores and coffee shops. The views of the lake from the deck are outstanding and the property is calm and quiet. The house would benefit from improved maintenance and upgrades, however: The lock on the patio door was broken, leaving a security risk. The heating in the living room broke down during our stay and there was a problem with the bathroom. The host was quick to respond and fix these issues. The kitchen wasn't well stocked - only three dinner plates available, for example, and the dishwasher needs replacing. A number of towels were damp upon arrival. Finally, the sofabed was extremely uncomfortable to sit or lie on. The house itself was clean and welcoming overall, but needs better maintenance to justify the price.

Do not book this property. We left three days early and paid for a hotel because the conditions were unacceptable. This was one street over from where they placed the house on AirBnb. The house was cold. The main living area has a heater that doesn't work, making it impossible to warm up even with the wall heaters running in other rooms. During the summer, I'm sure it'll be incredibly hot. The bathrooms had a terrible smell that permeated the space. There was even a booger on the wall in the laundry room. When we complained, the host offered to send cleaners while we were staying there, which we obviously didn't want, but this wouldn't have solved the heating problem or the underlying issues anyway. We lost hundreds of dollars leaving early because the host refused a refund, only offering money back "if someone else books," which clearly wasn't going to happen. Save yourself the money and frustration.
